If I could have but one wish
I know what it would be.
To have your hand upon my heart
For all eternity.
For if your hand were lying there...
there upon my heart.
You would feel the way it slows
Whenever we're apart.
You would feel it beating faster
Every time you say my name.
You would feel the way it tightens
every time I feel your pain.
If your hand were there upon my heart...
You would feel each beat it skips
Once for each taste I'm given of my sweet baby's lips.
You would feel the breaking of my heart
Every time you feel dispair.
And you would know the way my heart grows
With every moment that we share.
If I could have but one wish
This is all that it would be.
For to feel your hand upon my heart
You'd be joined with me.
This poem was actually written by my mother. I have always loved it, and have actually commited most of it to memory. I wanted to post this becuase it is how I have been feeling latley, hopeful. I hope that I can speak out too someone through her words...

this is an excellent poem, your mom used a good metaphor to explain how somebody feels the emotions of another person when they love them. i liked it alot. =]
It's times like this that I wish I had a photographic memory...
Or a printer =/
